When commissioning a portrait you can either e mail me your photos or post them to me.
If you are taking your photo, here are some useful hints to remember:
• Try to be at eye level with the subject.
• Take the photo somewhere the light is good (preferably outside) so I can get the true colours.
• Avoid using the flash.
• Make sure light is not shining from behind them as this creates a silhouette.
• Finally make sure you are happy with the photo you choose to have as a portrait. I always try to
capture the character of the subject.
These photos above would be fine for me to work from on a head portrait. I do prefer to have a variety of photos to look at so I can get a better idea of the subject from all sides. I can also fix the lens flare in the eyes.
As part of my portrait service, I can take photos for you if you live within distance of the North Coast. Customers are welcome to come to the studio for photographing or I can take photos on location. Please contact for more information.
If your subject is not available for photographing, perhaps your dog has passed away, don't worry. Get in touch with your photos and I'll see what I can do. I have worked from very small and difficult photos before, and I'll do my best to meet your needs.
